Can I formally go wiki-insane now?

Question

Funny that two of the suggested project tags for my query are "institutions" and "asylums." How appropriate.

In the category of things I never knew and my grandfather should have told me but didn't:

In looking for something else I found that my gg-aunt Rosannah Underwood married as her second husband John Dameron who was also the father of Rosannah's younger brother's wife.

Unfortunately, this kind of intricacy is rampant in my lines. I think I'm really tired now.

Oh, now it gets worse! Rosannah's second husband, John Dameron, had a son by HIS first marrage, Labon. Labon married Mary Cathey who was the daughter of Rosannah's sister, Caroline and Alfred Cathey. Alfred is a cousin, too, through that massive Cathey family in Mecklenburg County.

When I started looking at the Underwoods, I found all kinds of displaced this generation kids, etc.  I couldn't believe what I found.  And they were descendants of Quakers?  Hang in there, it is always interesting.

This bunch was definitely Quaker descended, but my branch left that behind maybe even before the migration to what is now Gaston County, North Carolina. A very interesting family. So much interconnectedness. I may go crazy, but I’ll most definitely hang in there!

Hi Pip

I just saw this post and really have to smile... My branch of the Underwoods descended into the Freemans. One wife dies, the husband marries her sister. The children are half-siblings and first cousins. Really a hard one to detangle.
