I don't see a need for project protection on that profile, but it's possible that Paula J, who protected it, might know a reason. It was protected in 2015, before current protocols were in place. Note that project protection is not intended to denote quality profiles; it might have been added solely to prevent bad merges.

I suggest that you contact the profile manager and Paula J about this one.

I have contacted Paula, I also cleared up the bio a bit. Maybe I can show these profiles some love during the day, less likely to be mixed up if they got more data on them.

It looks like many in the Abernathy family are protected. I found this comment from October 2018 on one of them:

Very possible: the change log for this profile shows removal of a parent, addition of another followed by the profile being protected all on the same day 27 Aug 2015.
