On the 1850 US Census for Uriah Wiley Russell, there is a woman named Nancy Acre listed. FamilySearch listed her as a daughter, possibly a widow returning to her family. Since her age and sex also filled a hole in the 1840 US Census for Wiley Russell, I added her as a daughter to my Ancestry tree. I was very new to genealogy when I did it.
When I joined Wikitree and added my family tree, I included Nancy (Russell) Acre, with the 1850 Census as a source. Now that I am more experienced, I am questioning that decision. I have been doing research on her and the only info I have that barely connects her is that she was possibly born in Alabama instead of Tennessee and the Russell son that would be closest in age to her was also possibly born in Alabama instead of Tennessee. However, she doesn't appear as their child in my grandmother's book [[space: Velvia Owens' Family Book]] which has been pretty accurate when listing family members.
I am going to write up a research note to explain all this on her profile but I also think I should disconnect her from the family until I find more information. Before I do that, can I please get some feedback??!!
