I think the Census record you refer to is a good match. As you suggest, and as the record Douglas provided supports, James Ketcheson was born Sep 1848. The enumerators for the 1851 Census of Canada were instructed to capture the data as of 12 Jan 1852, which means the Age next birthday, given in Column 6 fits with the stated birth. The fact that a Sarah Kyings appears on the same page at line 27 also fits with the Baptism record Douglas provided.

The Census record is a bit confusing as the enumerator had marked x's next to the ages of Sabry Waddington and Sarah Kyings, which usually denotes a married couple, however on the following page you can see the attempt to correct the confusion. It is also interesting to note that Sarah K Kyings and James K Kyings were enumerated as residents in different houses, Sarah with the Waddingtons, and James with the Ebins. Given the 8 adults and 7 children crammed into the Waddington shanty, it may have been a simple question of space.

It is interesting to know why Sarah and James would be separate from one another

given that James was only four.

But what surprised me, was seeing all the Waddington familie's listed

Our great grandmother was Sarah Waddington, Born, abt 1821 England.

Thanks again
