I’ve traced one line of my family back to Claude Laval (or de Laval), father of Marie Ann Claude Laval Bonnedeau, but now have hit a wall. On my Ancestry tree I’ve been given the “hint” that his parents are Marquis Philippe Emmanuel Laval of Sable and Madeleine de Montecler. When I looked into it though they only had 1 son, Urbain. There are a few family trees on Ancestry that have them listed as Claude’s parents, but I have searched several sites looking for any connection and haven’t been able to find one. I sent messages to a few people with these trees asking where they got the info but never got a reply.
I haven’t been able to find any sources that list either parent for Claude Laval. There is one source from the Marne, France Deaths, 1547-1907 lists information for a Claude Delaval with an about birth of 1629, death date of Oct 1 1679 with a location of Saint-Memmie, St-Andre.
I’ve tried searching several sites for clues to Claude’s parentage with no luck. I don’t know where the info from the Ancestry trees came from but don’t believe it is accurate. I am new to this researching so I may be missing places to look. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
