How do I hand-off ownership of a tree that I started for someone else (April Squires?)

You can orphan the profiles as Robynne suggested, after which the other person can adopt them … assuming that he/she is a WikiTree member.

Another thing you could do, also assuming that the other person is a member and that you know his/her email address, is to add that person to the trusted list, then make him/her manager, and then remove yourself from the profile's trusted list.  There is a tool to do a bulk addition to trusted list of a group of profiles, and another one to do a bulk removal of yourself.  These tools would make the job easier.

You dont hand off a tree.

Here at wikitree, we are all working towards one global tree.

But you can orphan profiles for someone else to adopt and manage.
