Roberta Estes profile of Jane Dobkins

Roberta Estes latest blog article is out, profiling an ancestor of hers named Jane "Jenny" (Dobkins) Campbell.  On impulse, I read it - and I have to say it's probably the finest profile I have ever seen!  I don't have her experience, I don't have most of your experience, but I don't think I have ever seen a better profile, for someone who was not famous and lived over 150 years ago, in a time of poor records.  Please do read it!

So I came back to WikiTree to see Jane's profile here - and it doesn't exist!  Most of us will be reluctant to try, because after viewing Roberta's work, how do you do justice to Jane's profile here?  She's made it easy, there are all the vitals and relationships (with estimates and explanations for same), there are stories, there are sources laid out, and there are images, LOTS of them.  But whoever wants to create her profile here should basically put in what's essential then point to Roberta's work, as *the* definitive profile for Jane (in my little opinion).

There are quite a few Jane Campbell's on WikiTree, but none appeared even remotely acceptable for her.  Her parents are on WikiTree, but bare, with no profile managers or sources, with one son and neither of the daughters.  Jacob is very interesting too, with considerable history of his own.

Rob, I appreciate so much you shared this profile with us here. It was a lovely and loving tribute to her ancestor Jane and her family. Certainly gives us a good example to strive toward. Though I'd never be able to do it so well, I believe our ancestors, "notable" or not, are worth the effort.

Talk about your bare-bones profiles. I would spruce them up, give them sources and link 'em to Roberta. Sounds like a great project. =D

I'd like to wait and see if someone more qualified than myself wants to take it on, especially a descendant or relative.  If no one ever does, I will - and probably follow your suggestions.
Sounds like a plan.
