A One Name Study has been started for the surname Eastman. Add your name as a Researcher by adding the category Researchers, Eastman Name Study to your profile as a start to joining us.

If you have a copy of the Rix book(s), please consider addressing the first task of adding profiles from that book and then adding additional sources as you can.

I would like to join this study, but I can't figure out how. I have gone to my profile, but do not see anyplace where I can add the category Researchers, Eastman Name Study. Where on the page do I do this?

I am a direct descendant of Roger Eastman.  I would be willing to help, I have Rix’s book The History of the Eastman Family 8n America.

Great. Thank you for volunteering.

1) First, you need to read up and sign the Honor Code.

2) Add yourself as a Researcher by going to your profile page and adding the category: Researchers, Eastman Name Study

3) Then, since you have a copy of Rix (and I don't) could you start with checking Roger's sons and daughters and make sure they are all entered and that a reference to the Rix book is entered in sources in the proper format (see Eastman References on Space: Eastman Name Study Page).  Also as you do each one, if it isn't already assigned to the Eastman Name Study, please assign to the proper states that they lived, died, and were born in (Country included if not USA). Thus, if they were born in England, but lived and died in Massachusetts like Roger, they would have the categories England, Eastman Name Study and Massachusetts, Eastman Name Study.

If you have any questions get back to me. Please contact me by email.  Thank you ever so much.
