Any links to 18th Century Porters from Pitcombe in Somerset, England?

James Porter was born in Pitcombe/Hadspear area of Somerset, England about 1755. He married Rachel Gane and had three children (as far as I know) Isaac b.1763, Cornelius b. 1778 & William b.1778. James died intestate. I think his parents were Samuel Porter b. 1723 & Mary but I have no proof except to say that James was a witness at the marriage of John Porter and Sarah in 1775 in Pitcombe.

Hi Wayne, thanks for those two pieces of info. I didn't have either of the dates you sent. I just need to find a connection between James and Samuel.
Regards
Marilyn
