Sarah Jones b 1654- Search turns up no matches

Question

Using the people search page I tried to search for Sarah Jones b 1654 and got no matches. But she exists Jones-4684. Sarah (Jones) Prentice. I tried a few other women searching by their maiden name and the function works, so it seems to be just Sarah.

Hi Anne,

I fear this may be a case of a weakness in our search tools that came up in another G2G thread.

There may be so many "Sarah Jones" that the system isn't able to gather them all before it starts sorting by date. We will work on this problem.

Searching without a birthdate finds all Sarah Jones profiles but only shows the first 100.

Searching with the 1654 birthdate finds all Sarah Jones born 1654 PLUS all Sarah Jones who ''could have been born in1654'' (i.e. with no dates) - but then only shows the first 100

Either way, you miss out !!!!

On advanced search you can choose to exclude those profiles without a date. that would help some.

Sarah Jones Prentice
Birth:  19 Apr 1654 - Suffolk
Death:  14 Apr 1733 - New London, New London, Connecticut
Marriage:  23 Nov 1675 - New London, New London, Connecticut
Spouse:  John Prentice

Thanks for answering, but I know who she is.

My problem is with the search function on the People: Search page. She does not come up as a result if I search for Sarah Jones b 1654. I can search for her as  Sarah Prentice and get her as a result. Why is her maiden name Jones not registering in the search?
