I want to get started on this challenge. I just submitted my first one.
I submitted my photo a couple hours ago.  Do they not immediately post to this thread or do y’all have to approve first?  Just wondering if I should worry that I didn’t do it right again.  HA!
Karen, posting your photo to the Space page and posting to this thread are two seperate actions - both of which you have to do - although you are not required to post to this thread,. There is NOTHING automatic about the process.

All the photos on this thread have been posted by the writers, just as they have been uploaded to the space page by the writers.

The Space page is the more important place to upload the photo because that is where it counts for the challenge and the badges.

I hope this makes sense.

Hi Robynne, yes, it makes sense.  I thought, as you said, I just had to post on the space page.  Let me search the help pages today to figure out how to post a photo in a comment or answer.  Thank you!

Spring in Maine.  Couldn't find a vintage photo, so here's one from April of last year.

52 Photos Week 15 Spring

When I saw this week's challenge I immediately knew what picture I was going to share.

500px-Palmer-16156-1.jpg

This is a picture that my ex-husband took. He is a skydiving photographer, and one of the best around. This picture was taken in 2012 and it is of 4 skydivers opening not their main parachutes but their reserve chutes.

This picture had to be perfectly timed. All four had to be in the exact place at the exact time. Mike had to be extremely close to them to get this picture, and they had to make sure that their chutes and or lines didn't tangle.

Remember - they are using their reserve parachutes and if something happened - they have nothing to fall back on.

The whole purpose was to make this picture look like a flower!  A spring flower.

When he posted this picture, it received several descriptions, including: a beautiful bouquet, what a flower, a nylon flower, blooming tulips, floating flowers, bouquet of Dahlias, and many other flowers. I thought it was one of the most beautiful pictures of his I had seen.

I think I will call it "Spring is in the Air".

Yes!  Great photo!

No!  You won't ever catch me trying something like that!
OMG I would NEVER want to do anything so dangerous.

It is bad enough that people jump out of planes with the main parachutes.

And now wanting to depend on the smaller chutes? No thanks!!
Cheryl this is just a perfect photo the color are so clear as Robynne I would never be brave enough to do this but thank You Cheryl for sharing this wonderful photo

Thank you SJ Baty, Robynne and Susan. I have to say that he has been skydiving for over 50 years, is a Master Skydiver, and actually has three cameras on his helmet. This was a risky jump, but all involved were professionals.

I am sure that they jumped with their regular parachutes, then cut-away to their reserves, if that would change your minds about sky-diving. laugh

I just noticed that the photo I posted for this thread is a .png.  Could that be the reason it’s not showing up?  Thanks Karen

NO Karen, It has nothing to do with the type of photo.

The process is NOT automatic.

You have to copy and paste your photo to this thread yourself.

These pictures are from Mother's Day Weekend in 1981 which was also my college graduation weekend. This was on Friday afternoon before or after a ceremony on the campus at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse. We were gathered in front of Moon Library on the Quad. In the first picture are my mother, me, and my Aunt Lois all in basically the same pose with my grandmothers Leola Cox and Pauline Boy sitting on the bench.

The second picture are my in-laws Rudy and Jinny Holmberg. This was the weekend both families met and I think it went fairly well.

Grandma Ranck (Ruth Lenore Violet Herling) was born in October and in this photo she looks about 6 to 9 months old - that would make this a Spring photo.  Considering that they lived in Minnesota, I'm sure of it!

I just finished a long edit of her profile and I think that it is pretty thorough.  Since, my Mother has sent me a lot of photos and new info so, in time, I'll be editing her profile further.

This is me and my sister.  This was in March 1990, Westminster, California.  I was getting ready to move me and my kids to Oklahoma. I was going through a divorce and my parents offered to help me with my kids so I could return to college.  Best Parents Ever!   I seem lost in my own little world or from the look on my face, my ornery little boy was getting ready to do something.  HA HA. We had taken my little ones and our brothers kiddos to the park to enjoy running and playing somewhere larger than the backyard.

Well done on figuring how to copy and paste a photo to the G2G thread!!

So glad you finally worked it out.

Nice spring photo too.
Thank you. Last two days I’ve been reading everything on posting photos!  Thought I was going to go crazy!  Haha

When we were kids, we always got new dresses and hats for Easter - and white gloves. This is my Mom and Dad, brother Jerry, (all deceased), me and my two sisters.

I think I could improve the colors and sharpness on this photo for you, if you want.  A little editing in post, as they say, should help it out.
I would LOVE that, Rob Neff! Please do, I would appreciate it so much!!! Thank you for offering!
Sheri

Here you are (I like doing this), I think the colors are close to natural:

omg!!! Thank you!!! What a difference!!! I am sooo surprised!!! Love, love, LOVE!!! Really, really appreciated, Rob!

Pictures that have a uniform haziness are good candidates for cleaning up.  I can't create detail where it doesn't exist, but I can enhance what is there.

Pinus palustris, otherwise known as the longleaf pine.

Pinus palustris (longleaf pine)

Hereʹs to the land of the long leaf pine,
The summer land where the sun doth shine,
Where the weak grow strong and the strong grow great,
Hereʹs to ʺDown Home,ʺ the Old North State!

Here is a photo of my mother and my grandfather. The back of the photo is dated May 30, 1926. My mother is now 95, so she was 2 years old in this photo. It may have been taken at my grandfather's half sister's farm in New York.

Every Spring time we fly to the States for the Sun and Fun airshow were we volunteer, keeping the public entertained and safe. It is amazing how folk do not pay attention causing us to spring into action to prevent them from harm.

Love it but just wish folk would pay attention to their surrounding...

There was a town called Neptune, Saskatchewan, Canada, southwest of Weyburn. It was my mother's hometown. During spring runoff, the melt water would sometimes almost touch the bottom of the railway bridge, as in this photo. My mother was born in 1926, so I'm guessing that this was taken, with her older sister, about 1940.
