Need parents of David McDaniel born in Maine around 1819. Cannot find anything no matter where I turn

Do you have any further information, such as David's future wife/location/children or where in Maine he was born?

He was born in the Somerville, Lincoln county area of Maine.

His wife's name was Rebecca Leighton born 12/20/1812 in Edgecomb, Maine. they married in 1843. they had 10 children. I have all this and was able to put together a tree for the Leighton side but he is my brick wall.

Leighton was also shown as Laiten, Layton,

He was born 28 July 1819, and he passed away on March 18 1862. On the "Maine Births and Christenings" image, which is a handwritten register including spouse and children, I actually found a different birth date for Rebecca: August 16 1821. She also reportedly passed away on November 5 1891.

Unfortunately, I could not find anything on David's parents :(

I know that's whats so frustrating, I have all his and her info just can't get his parents. Unless his first name wasn't really his first name.
