Need help on profile of John (Gand) Granville Daniel

I'm baffled by this. A kind Wikitreer here said that John (Gand) Granville Daniel (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Daniel-6376) was probably  the father of my ancestor Richard Venable Daniel (born about 1822?) (Daniel 2058.). =. But John was born "before 1760." There was a "suggestion" sent me saying John was born "too early."  I feel that he was certainly born early to be Richard's father, but his wife, Susan (Unknown-462848) is listed as living with Richard and his wife, Mary Grace, and their daughter, Isabella, in the  census of 1850.   So Susan may have been Richard's mother? I don't think she could have been his grandmother as she was 63 and he was in his 30s at that time. If anyone has any idea how to resolve this confusion, I would be grateful. I suppose John could have been very old when he had Richard or Richard was born earlier than it seems. ???? Thanks

It is very likely that Susan was the later wife of John.  He certainly isn't too old to have fathered a child.  It was very common during that period for a man (esp.) to have multiple wives as they often died in childbirth.  I've seen census records showing a husband 40-50 years older than his wife.  A pretty young woman and a wealthy man may have respective interests that lead to union.
True ! I thought about that too. Perhaps Richard was the child of his old age. For some reason there's a lot of confusion about Richard's birthdate. Some people And sources say 1790 and some say 1822.

I think you are most likely right, and I appreciate your answer.
Thank you, Kathy!

There is an index to Wills listing John G Daniel as 'devisor' and 'devisees' being Susan M Daniel, Ann B Dupey, Moses H Daniel and Richard V Daniel. Will probated in August court. Wills, 1746-1943; Index, 1749-1943; Author: North Carolina. Superior Court (Granville County); Probate Place: Granville, North Carolina Ancestry.com. North Carolina, Wills and Probate Records, 1665-1998 [database on-line].

there is also an Ancestry record of a marriage between Susan M Watkins and John G Daniel in Prince Edward County, Virginia on Nov 17, 1808.

Thank you so much. I'm not in Wikitree  right now but will look into it more and come in again. Many many appreciations.
I guess that settles that question! Clearly Gand as he called her self was the father of Richard. Thank you so much, and I don't think I need to push it any further. How do you find these Resources such as Wills? I don't know where to look for them.

I really appreciate your help and out of everybody else. I think I'm going to figure that my mother's line back to England' & Scotland Is fairly complete. Other people have done much of the work. If I can find my family papers I will bring them down and put them in as resources. For others.

I think I'm going to start looking further into my father's Side of the family, who were Russian Jews who immigrated around The turn-of-the-20 th century To New York and then other places. I know very little about the family in Russia, so I hope to go to a Mormon research center to look into it further soon.. Or I may ask for help here. Many thanks to everybody.
thank you very much, there is a lot of confusion here because on FamilySearch, usually quite a reliable resource, it seems, John Daniel is listed as the husband of Mary Grace Venable, who actually was his daughter-in-law
