Are Hampshire, England, parish registers online anywhere?

Family Search indexes a christening for Henry Heathcote in Romsey, Hampshire, on 12 January 1777, whereas all the published biographies give his date of birth as 20 January 1777. As a starting point, I would like to check the actual parish register, to check that the index transcription is correct. Are the images available anywhere, or would some kind soul be prepared to do a look-up? Thanks.

Was looking at something else and this came up.

Next time I go to the Record Office I will obtain a copy of the original record if you still need it to confirm what is recorded.

Stephen I am not aware of them being online.

Some for Portsmouth are on FMP and they had transcribed records of HGS.

The date on the FMP transcribed record is 12 Jan 1777 this was a HGS transcription which I believe is checked.

Hope someone local can help.

Thanks Hilary. I have Ancestry and FMP subscriptions, but couldn't find them there (only Portsmouth, as you say).

Probably a typo in the original biography, which has then been copied into the others.

Winchester Saturday Jan  25th

On Monday last, the Lady of William Heathcote esq was delivered with a son at his home in Lee.
Many thanks! That confirms the 20 January birth date, which points to an error in the parish register transcription.

I believe The Genealogist has Hampshire records but you need a subscription.

This is only a transcription from the Bishops Transcripts which gives the same date as the Family Search record.

A lot of them are on www.freereg.org.uk

You can select Hampshire and then the town but if you don't know the town you can search with just the county.

His baptism is there I have posted it as a comment on his profile
