Help with finding John D Hicks parents

John D Hicks 1846-1918 he was married to Polly Rednour Hicks they had a large family and lived in the Slickford Community in Wayne County Kentucy. There son James Richard Hicks is my Great Great Grandfather. I have trouble finding who John's parents are and where this Hicks family came from. I am estimating but I would say John and Polly have several hundred decedents who live near the Wayne County area. As his son James and his wife Daisy had over a hundred decedents when Daisy died over 20 years ago. I know many cousins through this line that have John and Polly in there family line twice as they had such a big family many of there great grandchildren married.

On" find a grave"there is a John D Hicks of Wayne County, but born 1877-1918, died age 40. Perhaps you are missing a generation? I cannot copy and paste here, but his spouse was Rhoda Lee, and father George Washington Hicks. You may find clues clicking around on different family members. You are right, there are quite a few!

I know for sure my John Hicks was married to a Rednour so I dont think this is the same person. It is hard to find much about him Hicks is such a common surname.
