Chris, adding the project account is one option, but another option would be to use a project sticker instead of the project box. Stickers are supposed to be used for profiles not requiring project management, since the project box was tied to the project management requirement.
There are a couple of things to consider in making the choice:
- If the profile is not in need of project management then most projects would prefer not to have it on their watchlists, which can grow astronomically if all project profiles are project managed. Project profiles that need PPP or are orphaned are examples of ones that should be project managed, while most others don't need it.
- Some projects don't have stickers, so that is not an option until such time as they do.
In my opinion, if projects are willing to have members add the project box then they need to put the email address of the project account on the project page, with instructions to add the project as manager when the project box is added. It should go without saying (but just in case it doesn't) that all projects should have stickers available.
Bottom line: my suggestion is to either write to the project leader asking what their pleasure is and requesting the project's email address if they want you to add the project box or requesting that they acquire a sticker otherwise.
