Can anyone help with a translation from Czech / Latin to English ?  I am trying to identify the parents of Frantisek Nowak b.28Jan1724 so I can add them to my wikitree.  The url is:   https://digi.ceskearchivy.cz/2166/112/2746/894/68/0

Thank you for your help.

Steve, if you edit this question and add the tag:

czech_roots

then it should get faster attention from the folks who can do it.

Under "Parents" it says: Kateřzina Nowakowa, said the father is dead and buried at St. Castulus church in Prague, Wenceslaus Nowak.

St. Castulus is Kostel svatého Haštala in Czech and church books can be found at the Archiv hlavního města Prahy, http://katalog.ahmp.cz/pragapublica/NavigBean.action?entity=%28%5En%29%28%28%28localArchiv%2C%5En%2Chot_%29%28unidata%29%29%28101037%29%29

Thank you for your help.   I was unable to tell in Vaclav was the father or grandfather of Frantisek.
I did quickly scan the burial entries at sv. Haštala for the 9 months prior to František's birth and did not find any entry for a Wenceslaus/Waclaw Nowak, or any Nowak for that matter. Could have missed something, though.

For Wenceslaus to be the father of Kateřyina I would have liked to see any indication of that in the "Parents" column. So I guess I would be inclined to believe hat Wenceslaus was the father.
I tried looking at the records too, but was unable to make any heads or tales of them.  I have found that with a deceased father a baptism is sometimes delayed.  Not sure why that would happen, but I have seen it.

I found what appears to be an index of deaths but there are no entries f02 1722 or 1723.

I did find a Katerina bp.1704 in Krenovice with parents of Vaclav and Ludmilla.  However, based on your translation I, too, would believe he is a father of Frantisek, not of Katerina.  The record seems quite pecific on where he buried.  I am surprised you weren't able to find him easily.

Thank you again for your help.
