Need help in correct categorization of a notable [closed]

Received in my error report today that I categorized my Notable wrong. I apparently don't know what I am doing, hence the error. Could a leader in Categories look at my Notable and tell me what i did wrong? No hurry. Thank you

I'm not a leader of the Categorisation project, but I can tell where you went wrong, and you do seem to know what you're doing! The error is that you've placed the profile into the Notables category, which is a top level category. A Top level category shouldn't hold individual profiles and should instead be used to house more specific categories (such as Organist), which is where you put your profile into.

This appears to have happened because you did not add what is called a "category parameter" to the Notables sticker present in the biography. The Notables sticker will automatically place a profile into the Top level category if you do not specify which category it should go into.

I've gone ahead and changed this for you. If you look at the profile, you'll see that the sticker template has gone from {{Notables Sticker}} to {{Notables Sticker|Organists}}. It is this " |X Category}} " addition which narrows the category down and will enter the profile into the Organists category rather than the general Notables category.

You don't need to do this for every category if, like Merrill, the profile is for a person who fits into several categories. Simply adding one category (such as Organists) to the sticker while adding the other categories as you normally would would work out fine :-)
