Staffordshire Careys pre-1750s?

Question

I have come to a dead end in my search for Carey ancestors. The oldest I was able to find was a Thomas Carey of Stoke-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, England (Carey-784). Does anyone have more information on the origins of Careys in the Staffordshire area pre-1750?
