We have some folks within the Greeter Project who started WikiTree in this month and one who finally got their Greeters badge (sorry for the delay, Mindy).  Here they are! Congratulations and thank you for all your hard work so far!

• Eowyn Langholf joined WikiTree in April 2012
• Bill Dunkley joined WikiTree in April 2013
• Pip Sheppard joined WikiTree in April 2018
• Mindy Silva became an official WikiGreeter in April 2019

Greeters get some wonderful thank yous from new members but things aren’t always rosey.  For those times when we need a quick pick-me-up, the Go Greeters! page is a great reminder of all the good we do for new members.

The primary goal of the Greeters Project is to help guests become members while protecting WikiTree from ne’er-do-wells.  In the first quarter of 2019, that resulted in Greeters interacting with over 20,000 new members, including the 600,000th WikiTreer.  Approximately 5,000 guest members needed assistance with confirming their email address. 55 spammers were stopped at the border and 146 age checks were done.

Such a great gang to be part of I had to come back. I was a Greeter in 2015 before I went to my first RootsTech conference.

I love working with this group, it is diverse and at times wacky, but we do a wonderful job 24/7 365 days of the year someone, somewhere is on the feeds to greet and welcome guests and guide new volunteers
