What is the best/easiest way to insert a generation?

I find that my ancestor is shown as daughter of Samuel Barnett. However, she should be the daughter of Samuel's son Samuel. And of course, her siblings are also wrong. I would need to create the younger Samuel. And then edit all children and siblings?

The Samuel and Martha I have as Rachel's parents both died several years before her birth. I now believe that perhaps they were parents of Samuel Jr, who was Rachel's father.  However, Samuel Sr. was 13 years old when his son Samuel was born. So, some dates somewhere must be incorrect! Perhaps I'd better find more documentation of their dates before I do anything.

If she is not his daughter, how old would he have been when he had the younger Samuel? There doesn’t seem to be enough gap to slot anther generation in.

Katharine, I'm not going to address whether or not it would be correct, as raised by others.  I can tell you the easiest way to do it, if your final decision is that it is the correct thing to do.

1. If the younger Samuel does not already have a WikiTree profile, then add his, starting from the older Samuel's profile and clicking the "add child" link.
2. Note the WikiTree ID of the younger Samuel's profile.
3. On Rachel's profile, click the "edit father" link and:
   a. remove the older Samuel as her father
   b. enter the WikiTree ID of the younger Samuel in the
       space to add her father
