If you have the GMD, I'll give a gold star for a lookup of Anderson's sources.

Williams, John: Unknown; 1636; Scituate [NEHGR 10:43; PCPR 1:34, 2:2:50; MD 17:109; PM 32; MacDonough-Hackstaff 461-65].

MacDonough-Hackstaff does not appear in Anderson's "List of Titles." It's referenced one other place, in the profile for William Burrowes. Torrey uses it, as "Macdonough, Rodney, The Macdonough-Hackstaff Ancestry (Boston: S. Usher, 1901)"

Am I to understand that a title is excluded if Anderson found the sourcing to be too shoddy?  Or has too much information contradicted by records?
I don't know. It may be that he omits full cites to sources that Torrey used on the theory that anyone can look them up in Torrey. Perhaps he explains this in the print edition of the GMD; I just have the e-book edition.
