Do you have English/Welsh ancestors living in England/Wales in the Victorian or later periods?  Never used FreeBMD?  Can you help Free UK Genealogy (the charity behind FreeBMD improve the site for new users?  We have recruited testers with experience of the current site, but we are looking for experienced genealogists who have never used FreeBMD, and for those who are new to genealogy, who have never used FreeBMD, to give us feedback on our initial ideas, and later to test our new help pages.  Please get in touch, and one of our volunteers working on the user experience and user interface will be in touch.

We have recruited sufficient people who are familiar with the existing site, from a range of backgrounds, but are really stuck with finding people who have never visited the current site.

With thanks,

Pat

I rely heavily on FreeBMD and, more importantly, FreeREG. FreeCEN not so much. And GenUKI is an essential reference along with the FamilySearch Wiki.

Thank all the volunteers for me. I've transcribed for FreeREG in the past and it isn't as simple as it sounds.

Thanks, Rosemary.  I'll pass on your thanks - as you say, our volunteers do what can be a very difficult job.

Best wishes,

Pat

Hi Pat

I haven't used FreeBMD for over a decade, so most likely i haven't used the site in its current iteration.  I'm fairly experienced with UK genealogy, and I've paid for lots and lots of BMD certificates! I'd love to help FreeBMD in any way i can.

Three of my grandparents were born in England, so i have rellies that i could use to trial different aspects, if you like.  My direct line doesn't have any brick walls in England in the period since 1837, so i know what records should be there....  I'd be happy to give some feedback on the user experience.

Is this sufficient to volunteer?  Or should i email you at your address given?

Cheers

Shirlea
