Charles O. Lash was born in Union County, KY in 1850's. Parents David Van Meter Lash and Amanda Alsop Barron.  His siblings were A. H. Lash, William David Lash, half brothers Charles Lash and Robert Lash, and half sister Sarah Tabitha Lash.  The half siblings were born in Bolivar Country, MS.  Their mother was Permelia Wilson Lash. I do not know what happen to him after he was born.  Did he die before David Van Meter Lash left Kentucky about 1861.  Found him on the 1860 Census in Kentucky.  Found William David Lash on the 1870 Census for Bolivar County, MS.  Charles O. Lash and A. H. (Herman) Lash have slipped thru the cracks. Looks like their mother, Amanda, died before 1860 and she was not listed on 1860 Census for Union County, Kentucky.

This is his obituary:

BEE STING MAY HAVE PRODUCED A CANCER WHICH RESULTED IN THE DEATH OF CHARLES LASH, A WELL- KNOWN CITIZEN OF LIBERTY TOWNSHIP Funeral services for Charles Lash were held Tuesday morning at ten o'clock in the Union church near Peoria, conducted by Rev. John Forsythe and interment was made in the cemetery near the above church. Mr. Lash's death occurred Sunday, and was the result of a cancer, as the result of a bee stinging him on the ear, a year and a half ago. The cancer ate a portion of Mr. Lash's head away. Death came as a great relief to the sufferer. He had been bedfast however, but six weeks prior to his death. Mr. Lash resided on a farm in Liberty township a mile and a half south of Peoria. He was about 60 years of age and well known in the community where he resided. Decease is survived by a widow and the following children: Bert Lash of Marysville; John, of Mechanicsburg; Mrs. Ollo Trickley?, and Edward and Martha who reside at home; Mrs. Ernest Reed of Taylor township; and Fred Lash of Liberty township. -----
