Advice before adding father of this pre-1700 Thompson profile?

Question

I believe Christopher Thompson's father is not Samuel Thompson. Christopher was born in 1627 and Samuel in 1691. In all the research I have done I can not find the father of Christopher at all.

How do I go about removing this connection

First, I would add the original sources you have for the data on this profile, that is most important in this discussion.   Once you have proof of the birth year, then it becomes obvious that Samuel cannot be the father, and I would just remove him with that comment.   Right now, there is no proof on the profile for the birth of Christopher.
