Consideration for making Profile Photo(s) Public or Private without needing to be on the Trusted List

Has there been any consideration given to adding the capability to INDIVIDUALLY set all Profile Photo(s) Public or Private without needing to be on the Trusted List? In other words, I am suggesting:

  • The profile's "Avatar" is automatically a "Public" photo
  • Additonal photo(s) are "Private" unless you are on the person's "Trusted List"
  • Add ability to individually make any photo(s) "Public" so it/they will be visible in the Profile's "Public View" configuration
    • I would like the photo of me in my wheelchair with my lap-dog Mito visible to the public and not just my "trusted list" of members
    • I would like to make the mug-shot of my cute, female Pug lap-dog visible to the public and not just my "trusted list" of members
  • Other picture(s) may be individually set to "Private" only

This enhancement to the member's profile should be well-received by WikiTree members.

Thanks for the WikiTree designers' consideration of this suggestion.

P.S. Any support from other members on this product-improvement suggestion would be much appreciated!!!

When I'm thinking genealogy, and doing research - I'm not sure I would want to see pets or photos that don't relate to the task at hand, in addition to the ancestor photos, census/records images etc.  Some profiles are quite 'busy' as it is.

It might eventually lead to a lot of clutter on a site that's dedicated to genealogy.

Have to think more about this idea... but I'm thinking those kinds of things are best if they remain on the Private list.

We have free pages that allow pet photos and other types of family info... the genealogy profile page allows some play for individuality but is balanced for the purpose of 'non genealogical ' related items. I used a background of the pacific ocean on one page of a deep sea lover, a historically accurate photo of the city for a city politician a dog pic on the dog breeder... etc but a personal photo when i can of deceased members none on private or living.my opinion.thanks .
