I want to add Hannah Bascom (1590-?), who was born in Sturminster, Dorset, England.

I'm not clear on whether I can add a person who may be included in an ongoing project, even though I'm not able to locate her in any of the projects. It looks like a project is ongoing for Sturminster Newton, Dorset, but not for Sturminster, Dorset. Also, Sturminster Dorset is not in the indexed list of municipalities, which only include part of "C". She died in North Hampton, MA, US.

I think you will find it is Sturminster Newton. I could not find Sturminster only.

I am working on this as the manager of the One Place Study has left WikiTree.

Can you provide sources for this person?

There are two Sturminsters in Dorset. Sturminster Newton and Sturminster Marshall.  Sturminster Newton is now the larger and more well known but  Sturminster Marshall was originally bigger than today.

What evidence do you have for her place of birth? Registers exist for Sturminster Marshall from 1563 (there are online transcripts on the Dorset OPC site). and for Sturminster Newton from 1681

If Hannah was born in either of these two places she would automatically be part of the England project . There are categories for both parishes https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Dorset%2C_Places

It's Sturminster Marshall, where most of the Bascoms were settled at that time.

Maybe this is information that you already have:

Jean Bascom 1534-1626

Margaret Beaumont 1536-1586.

They had 8 children, including Henry Bascom born 1569, from whom I am descended

and John Bascom 1570-1624

who married

Jane Beaumont 1576-1624.

They had 9 children, of whom the first was:

Hannah Bascom 1590-1690 (possibly)

who married

Abel Janes 1585-1650

William Janes 1610-1690 was their son.

He married Mary Hewes 1615-1662

and they had 13 children.

This information is from Family Search and my own research over the years.
