Thank you Sharon for posting

So looking forward to take part  and help wherever I can
I like tot put in Some help, I have got ancestors over there
I have a bunch of 1820 (and Moodie) Settlers up me and my wife's tree. How should they be flagged?
Please check the 1820 Settler Project page for categories and badges that you can add to your settler profiles. Please ensure that profiles are sourced. Thanks for your help.
Thank you that would be great. Let me know if you need any assistance. Anything you can add is much appreciated.
How can I post a 60 page PDF resource? I have scanned Walter Bolus - family jottings (1968). It covers some 1820 but is more broadly English Heritage under SA roots.

Hi Dennis - my guess is that there would be copyright issues uploading a scan of a whole work like that. Could you share it with me via a drop box or google docs and I could have a look at it and work our how best to share the information contained therein? You can email me on sharoncaldwell@real-learning.org

I do not believe copyright is at issue as he specifically addresses his audience "intended for private circulation to family and relatives"

I have posted it on the author's WT record here:

So happy to see you joining us. Yea !!

Sources are our bigest problem at this stage and you are welcome to dig in and "find them sources" . wink

Let me or Sharon know if you have any problems or need help.

I have an old family tree (from 1968) which shows the ancestry of George Southey Snr (1776-1831) (Southey-59). It shows his descent from Thomas Southey (1545-1601). Also the connection with the Poet Laureate, Robert Southey , and the 15th Lord Somerville, John Southey Somerville. I also have some other "Southey" research. I have been meaning to add it all to the site (with supporting sources), but wanted to complete the England Orphan Trail before going pre-1700. Regretfully, work and family mean I have very little time. I am happy to share what I have or work with somebody more experienced to have it all posted.

That is wonderful James. If we can work out a way to share I am sure we will find a volunteer to start to type it into the site. I will be in touch.
Hi George - is the tree in hard copy or digital. If it is in digital, shareable form perhaps one of the people who volunteered to transcribe could help with it?
Sorry Sharon, it is a hard copy and presumably the layout is copyrighted. That said I am happy to transcribe the facts contained within it. Perhaps somebody could private message me?

Hi Sharon

I’m a direct descendant of Captain Thomas Butler who led the Irish party aboard the Fanny. Happy to help if I can.

Great. Please have a look at the 1820 Settler project page and format profiles according to the guidelines. Add stickers and categories as appropriate. If you can help on other profiles or want to set up some that aren't already on WikiTree please let me know what party you would like to start working on.
