Advice before editing this pre-1700 Burnsyd profile?

I have information to contribute to the profile of Marion (Burnsyd) Reid-Reed. This is what I can add:THE FAMILY NAME IN SCOTLAND APPEARED TO BE REID UNTIL THEY CAME TO AMERICA, THEY STARTED SPELLING IT REED

These are the sources I am using: SCOTLAND, SELECT BIRTHS & BAPTISMS, 1564-1950

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

Whatever the earliest record says the spelling is should be used as LNAB. Where later records show different spellings they can be reflected in current last name or other last names. This can mean that different generations have different LNAB s, but spouses will have same current name

In any case Reid-Reed, used for other family members, does not appear to be a valid LNAB .
