I am uncertain of her mother, I have found the name Lynette Nettie Spinoli, whom has no relatives with this surname. I found Alice Elderkin, however I'm not sure of this either. They were bootleggers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Nettie Spinoli has a birth year of circa 1872, Alice as well.

It is Nettie Spinoli that I am unable to find, her surname has no matches. No father, mother, birth date. This is where I am stumped. I'd replace her with Alice, however there is no information on her. Wow you are fast!

Hi, Julie,

The problem with Alice is that after I said I couldn't find her I did. She can be found with James A Freeland in Illinois and Louisiana with their children. The 1910 census has a daughter named Inice (sic) born Abt. 1901 in Illinois. Alice Freeland died in Louisiana in 1936. Nettie can be found in South Carolina and Virginia at the same time Alice is found in Louisiana, so clearly not the same person.

I believe Doris's father's name is Arthur Pater Freeland (never Freeman), born in Georgia.  This really is a riddle. lol Have you considered DNA?
