merging pre 1700 people

Question

I'm trying to merge my Elizabeth Stanborough with another one. As she was born in the 1600s I would think I could but I cant. I need to do this with her husband William Throop (Throope on other editors) also it would combine 2 huge lineages . Never gotten a replty from editor yet.

Your merge request has been recorded,  it's awaiting approval by the manager of the profile.

 

In the small print, above Biography, you will find "Matches Exist."  This indicates that your request has been recorded.

 

Now you wait, (however patiently) for the manager to agree or not.

It's just that I thought people from over 300 years ago could be edited by anybody.

Actually the editor hasn't edited since february 21, 2011, and all his edits but 1 are a gedcom import.
