How do I search all orphans by location?

Question

If there isn't a quick way to spot orphans associated to a particular city/state location, could one be established?

I feel we are missing opportunities because orphans (whom we may know) are too difficult to find.

Many of us have lots of relatives without a common surname.  Many of us know lots of people in the communities where we have lived.  I personally would like to see a way to filter orphans (with known birth, marriage, and/or death locations)  to be searchable by state / county / city and then shown  in alpha order last name / given name  (i.e. Illinois / Kendall / Sandwich / Darnell / given name)

A Wikitree+ search may or may not be suitable. You can do a lot of different variables on there but I am not sure that your specific "Orphan only" search is available.

You can include the word orphan in a wikitree+ search to find orphans. For example 19cen netherlands unsourced orphan

Edited to add:

A better example for you is 

Illinois kendall orphan

This is sorted by last name. It is a keyword search so includes people named Kendall who lived in Illinois. It would also include people born in Kendall some other place and who died in Illinois. You will probably need to do a separate search for the city and Illinois because many profiles do not have all levels of city, county, state, country.

I haven't figured out where I find "Wikitree+ search" and where I put a combination such as your example.  I tried in several places in search but got NOTHING like what you provided in your link.  Thank you so much for that link.  I will be using your link to evaluate the results.  LOOKS GOOD and promising! After I get done with this combination, I'll try the same with a different county but I need to know where to find the "Wiki+ screen". This is the first time I have seen a "WikiDr" screen display - could you steer me in the right direction to find where I do this?

It is not easy to find. I have save some of my favorite searches  saved/linked on the scratch pad on my navigation home page, which does not help you.

Go to the Find menu, choose Categories. Above the big heading Category: Categories, there is a string of small text links. One of these is wikitree+ search. Click that..

There may be an easier way, but I don't know one.

Thanks - over the past week I have "played" with your suggestions and actually saw things I have never seen despite being on the pages before.  I may not have come up with a list of adoptable orphans with birth, marriage, death, or burials in DeKalb, IL or Sandwich, IL but came up with all kinds of other ideas to consider.  I would still like a geographical search option right on the page that comes up when selecting Orphaned Profiles or more specifically unsourced orphaned profiles. I don't relate to searching by a surname when there might be hundreds of surnames that might be of interest in or near my relatives' locations.  Different strokes for different folks comes to mind.  I still have to look at what "Draft" has to offer.  Thanks for directing me in the right direction.
