I believe the conversion equation to get degrees of consanguinity is:
((# of cousins + 1) x 2) + times removed = degrees
So in your case, its:
((2 + 1) x 2) + 6 = 12 degrees
I note that, if one is using Connection Finder, it calculates what it calls "degrees of separation" which takes into account non-blood connections - eg, the wife of a cousin - to find the shortest connection. People will often have much lower degrees of separation than their degrees of consanguinity. Since some people post their blood relationship (eg 5 cousin, 4 times removed) and others post their degrees of separation from Connection Finder, the degrees posted are kind of apples and oranges.
