Need sourcing help on Norwegian born profiles

I'm currently adding profiles for people who died on the "Montevideo Maru" during WW2 (a ship transporting prisoners of the Japanese that was sunk). Some of these are crew of the Norwegian registered freighter "Herstein", many of whom were Norwegian. I have death registrations (completed sketchily by the Norwegian Consul in Australia), but would appreciate an assist from someone who understands & has access to Norwegian records for birth, marriages etc.

While I certainly appreciate your work, it would be nice if you could spell their names correctly with Norwegian letters, so that others won't have to do the extra work and correct them. There are plenty of explanations of how to do this on the web, for instance in the Norway Project FAQ here on WikiTree. I have corrected Bjarne Møller's LNAB as well as his birth place.

Thanks Leif - I hadn't been able to figure out quickly how to use the special characters - can copy/paste from the FAQ page now.

It looks like the character I was seeing on the 1947 type written document as an "o" with 2 dots above it is now the "o" with a stroke through it?
Yes, a lot of older Norwegian sources use the umlaut ö rather than the slashed ø. I don't know exactly when the ø became prevalent, but something late 19th century is my guess.

In the mid-20th century there were lots of typewriters about lacking the æøå letters, and one had to type them with a digraph. The ö looks a lot nicer than an o with a big / through it.

I did some quick searching at Dataarkivet and didn't find good candidates for most of these, but a wealth of information for Peter Cornelius Brandal, who was born in Ålesund, not Oslo:
