Condensing biographies and notes

How do I go about condensing long narratives into a link? I have encountered many good stories that I would like to add to profiles but cannot find directions on how to condense; i.e. Banta-29 has a Contents with expandable bography sections.

Not sure I'm understanding your question. The referenced Profile doesn't have what I think of as expandable sections. It does have a table of contents at the beginning. That is done by using sections with a header like:

        === Section Header ===

Is that what you are referring to?

Some profiles have the biographies condensed so that you "open" them to read, rather than the entirety being immediately apparent. Another example, Trembly-40. You see Contents, under which you may click on Biography, which is green, and underlined. You must click it to read. It is condensed and hidden. I do not know how else to explain.

Sorry, that profile (Trembly-40) doesn't show up that way for me, either. Just the table of contents at the beginning. The Biography link there is green but it just moves you to another part of the page. The profile is short enough that it doesn't need anything hidden. Especially if the GEDCOM parts are cleaned up.

Oh! I see now that it is not hidden, just at the bottom. Hmmm. Thanks. I still have so much to learn. I will experiment with section header. On Shuck-270. Let's see how it goes.

I would suggest leaning towards concentrating on family information first, then adding things that would lead to other information sources (e.g. places lived, military units, migrations, etc), and highlight interesting events (maybe adding a short line with a link to a longer article).

That profile is Project Protected and has the New Netherland Settlers group listed as a PM.  Therefore, nothing major should be done to 'that' profile without checking with the project.

If you want to have another profile, refer back to the narrative in this one, you can also add a note in that profile with this format, removing the spaces that I have entered  [[ Banta-29 |  Hendrick Banta III ]]  so there will be a direct link back to this one.

I am only using this profile as example. Sorry if I am not articulating my question very well. Do not wish to add to Hendrick.
the point is that you on any profile, you can add a note to refer to a different profile for more information using the format for the profile as stated.  You can also create a Space page that you refer profiles to, but it is normally recommended to have the information on each profile, I think.
