How, then, can one add a particular "tree" to one's watchlist?

If one can only download a GEDCOM of people on one's WatchList, then how can one add to one's WatchList a set of individuals (without adding them one at a time)? I.e., can I go to a given person's profile page and add that person and all their ancestors to my watchlist?

Hi Jillaine,

If these are profiles that you added, then they should already be on your Watchlist. If you're talking about someone else's tree, created by another WikiTreer, then the only way to get those profiles on your Watchlist is if the Profile Manager of those profiles adds you to the Trusted List for each profile. This can be done in bulk. But you can't add yourself to the Trusted List of someone else's profiles.

I hope that answers your question.

On other wiki's, one can visit any page and add it to their watchlist, whether or not they created that page (manually or through upload). Wondering if the same is possible here?
Why are Watchlists tied with Trusted lists? They seem very different to me. I understand that to edit a page, one needs to be on a Trusted List. I get that. But what if I just want to *watch* (and be kept informed) of certain pages?

Thanks for helping me get the lay of the land here. (It's a VERY different country than WeRelate... not that there's anything wrong with that! ;-)
I see your point. This is actually something I've thought of before, too, as someone who also edits Wikipedia. Really, anyone should be able to "watch" any profile they want. I'll make sure Chris sees this suggestion.

Hi Jilliane , If I understand your question correctly , your watchlist holds everyone you enter manually or upload gedcoms on in one place --and each time you add either via manually or by gedcoms  , it grows the branches on your tree but also everyone is on your watchlist .

Please do not hesitate to tell me if I did not answer your question (-:  Maggie N
