ship's passenger lists not behind a paywall: Tasmania 1854

+5 votes

Greetings, everyone!  Following up on a question Barry Smith asked yesterday, I'm wondering if anyone knows where else to find the passenger list for the ship Tasmania, docked in Tasmania in Sept-Oct 1854?

Jessie said she came on the Tasmania, and there is a Jessie Fleming on the Tasmania that arrived at that time.

The Register of Immigrant Arrivals Demographic Details is available here on Ancestry - is it available elsewhere? Preferably not behind a paywall, of course!

Hello Shirlea,

Does this help?  I think this is your Jessie Flemming arriving in 1854, aged 19, you will need to go through the document to find her specific name but when I search "Jessie Flemming 1854" this is the document that is supplied.$002f$002fNAME_INDEXES$002f0$002fNAME_INDEXES:421578/one?qu=Jessie&qu=Flemming&qu=1854&qf=NI_INDEX%09Record+Type+%28Names+Index%29%09Arrivals%09Arrivals

Ship arriving 30th September 1854, Captin Linton I think coming from Melbourne.
