Although not at Juno Beach himself, my grandfather was a staff officer at 1st Cdn Armd Div HQ and was the lead planner for the Canadian Army road move from their bases in Northern England to the Seaport of Departure (SPOD) at Southampton.

I just created this one just now.  Rod Keller commanded the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division which was assigned to take Juno Beach during the D-Day invasion.

Thanks, Stu. I've added a photo. Unfortunately, most of the good photos of Keller are copyrighted by the Crown, but I did find one that was in the public domain.

It's interesting that this man and MGen Keller both died during a trip to visit Normandy.  I saw a veteran die during a Remembrance day parade once.  The emotional stress probably pushed them over the edge.
Interesting comparison. Makes you wonder.
