Can I replace a GEDCOM load with a new GEDCOM file?

Will this trigger massive merging because of new id's?  There are many errors in my Wikitree records from an older GEDCOM load by another member of the family.  I have those corrected and additional data in my home version.  I am looking for an efficient way to reload the data with minimal to no merging.

We never deliberately create new profiles to merge with existing ones.

You could edit the individual profiles manually to revise the erroneous content from the old gedcom.

Or you could upload your new Gedcom file to WikiTree. Then go into the WikiTree GEDCOMpare utility, use GEDCOMpare to match each record in your new Gedcom file to the existing profile for the person, then use GEDCOMpare to edit the individual profiles with data from the new Gedcom.

I can't see any ancestry for you in WikiTree, so I can't guess at what you are thinking of working on. However, I think that manual editing is likely to work out best for you. Before existing profiles with GEDCOMpare, it's advisable to have a good bit of manual editing experience under one's belt (otherwise it's too easy to make a mess).
Thank you.  I do have a profile, but I haven't worked on the tree since I took it over from a sibling.  I will read more on the GEDCOMpare tool and figure out what will be most efficient.
Apparently your sibling closed their account. When that happened, it appears that the profiles for your sibling, your parents, and probably some other living or recently deceased relatives were deleted. Your first priority probably should be to restore your immediate family to WikiTree -- and connect the restored profiles to their parents who have existing profiles here.

Uploading a new GEDCOM will not automatically create new profiles, Joanna. But it will allow you to compare existing profiles to those in your new GEDCOM. Then, as Ellen comments, you can edit the existing profiles to correct any errors.

Once you have compared all the profiles in your GEDCOM, you should then be given the option of creating new profiles for anyone in your GEDCOM who doesn't have an existing WikiTree profile.

Also, as Ellen suggests, you should learn the basics of profile creation and editing manually first before you attempt to process a GEDCOM.
