Hello Group,

Would you be willing to help me add information to Elmer Hankins profile? I have a lot of information on his son Williams profile if you want to see my bread crumbs. (Correction: My work did not save. I will be adding a lot of information to Williams profile. )

Thank you,

Not sure why it was so small
Thanks!

Sometimes it seems to just happen, and if we don't notice it it's as though written by Lilliputians!

I think this might be Elmer:

"United States Census, 1910," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MKDY-P25 : accessed 5 June 2019), Elenor Hankin, La Salle Ward 1, La Salle, Illinois, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) ED 105, sheet 10A, family 190, NARA microfilm publication T624 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 1982), roll 300; FHL microfilm 1,374,313.  Married about 1907.

Ignoring the recorded genders, son William is the right age.  Wife Tina, 24, born in Germany.  Twenty years later, Sons William and Francis lived in Minneapolis with their mother Albertina (now named Dayton), widow, 44, born in Germany.

"United States Census, 1930," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X3ZY-8Z2 : accessed 5 June 2019), Albertina Dayton in household of William R Hankins, Minneapolis (Districts 1-250), Hennepin, Minnesota, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) ED 242, sheet 12A, line 13, family 257, NARA microfilm publication T626 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 2002), roll 1099; FHL microfilm 2,340,834.

Elmer Hankins, son of John Hankins and Minerva Brown, married Tina Stenck, daughter of Michael and Wilhelmine Stenck, 11 Sep 1907 in La Salle, Illinois"

"Illinois Marriages, 1815-1935," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:V2PL-SF9 : 10 February 2018), Elmer Hankins and Tina Stenck, 11 Sep 1907; citing La Salle, Illinois; FHL microfilm 1,710,812.

Now, that might be a coincidence, but Elmer Hankins and Tena Stenck had an unnamed daughter in Amboy, Lee, Iowa Illinois 15 Sep 1912.  Possibly Marie Hankins?

"Iowa, County Births, 1880-1935," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VRZY-NSP : 11 March 2018), Hankins, 15 Sep 1912; citing Amboy, Lee, Illinois, United States; county district courts, Iowa; FHL microfilm 1,749,705.

The birth was registered in Iowa, but the record image clearly says Amboy, Lee, Illinois.

Elmer, a railroad fireman, died 12 Sep 1917, asphyxiated by 'illuminating gas,' in Des Moines, Iowa.  He was sent back to La Salle, Illinois for burial.

"Iowa, Death Records, 1904-1951," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QGK2-DV6X : 9 August 2018), Elmer Hankins, 12 Sep 1917, Des Moines, Iowa, United States; citing certificate #, State Historical Society of Iowa, Des Moines; FamilySearch digital folder 102902982.
