Need help finding where Erastus german has been?

Surname- German, Have searched back to my great grandfather, been trying to follow his path through the midwest, His name is Erastus German, one of seven childern of Jonathan and Elizabeth Yelley German, Erastus was born in Hopewell TWP, Muskingum Co. Ohio in abt. 1841, he was in Ind., Ill., Mo. and still searching. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
