Do you really think Sarah Chamblee married a man 7 years younger than her?

Trying to get the dates right for Sarah Chamblee and Joshua Burris. If Sarah was born in 38 (where does this date come from?) then she is quite old when she is still having children. Some sites list her as born up to 15 years after Joshua, who is shown born in 55. I cannot find source material for the dates on this site. Please help.

My Grandmother married a man much younger then her (twice in fact). It does happen.

smiley Yeah, regardless of cases found where December wed Spring, he does have a real situation here ... he does need a reliable DOB for Sarah ...  I suppose he has checked to see if there's any records online for churches where she might have be baptized or christened, married, or buried where such bits of info such as age or DOB or DOD etc might be listed?

Also, generally speaking a woman can be fertile from say age 12/13 or so to age maybe 45/50. So she'd be at the least 13 yrs younger than her first born and no more older than say 45 for her last born.

Second thing to look for is documents by her father, mother, sibs, children than mention her. For instance did she have to have a consent form signed by a parent or guardian at marriage? That would mean (usually) she wasn't yet age 21. Depending on the location of course. If she had to have a guardian court-appointed while "young' that also means she wasn't yet 21.

As I said her profile is unsourced, so no idea where the info came from. Familysearch.org might have sources, just be aware ‘trees’ are user uploaded and may not be accurate.

I found her mentioned in a book

https://archive.org/details/chambleefishergr00updi/page/n9

The book gives her date of birth as 1755

They are also listed here with sources. Check it out.

That geni user record has Joshua born 1724; Sarah 1755, with a link to FaG that has no headstone.

I have found numerous instances of women in my direct line marrying men anywhere from a few years up to 11 years younger. It may be uncommon but it did happen.
