Are your in-laws more closely connected to this week's profiles than you are?

I'm tied to both Gregory Peck and Alexis Nelson through my sister-in-law.  It doesn't always work that way, howeer.

Ever since I began adding my husband's line, he always seems to provide my closest connection route to the weekly profile. If I go up a generation or two with my parents or grandparents and try to find a connection to them I can sometimes find a route or two not involving my husband. It happened again this week. Closest connection from Gregory Peck (21 degrees) to me is through my husband. If I use one of my own grandfathers to find the connection, it lengthens to 24 degrees to me.

Everybody connects through my inlaws, nowhere else.

Wow!  Great question.  I never even thought to check my in-laws connections.  How silly is that?

Because my ancestry is british and  my husbands ancestry is french canadian, pretty much most Americans whom I connect with, have some french canadian ancestry or connection so they connect to me through my husbands family.

Anyone who has more recent british ancestry will often connect through someone in my own family.
