Kat, is there anything additional to work with? The name and year of birth fit many individuals in Ireland. Do you have a suspected place of birth? Did he migrate to the Colonies?
The only information I have is Edward was born 1835.

His wife, Anastasia Bady? was also born 1835.

They married in 1858 in New Ross, Wexford, Ireland. no clue whether they came to America,

The son I do have is James Edward b1858 in Ireland but was married 11/16/1884 in Lowell, Massachusetts

I really want to find Edwards or Anastasia parents and if James had siblings
Does Edward have a profile in WikiTree? Can you copy the URL into this thread. Thanks. I will poke around, probably tomorrow.
I don't think he came to America and I suspect he was born in Wexford Ireland
The only information I can find on a Edward Walsh in New Ross, Wexford around the time of the 1858 marriage is for an Edward Walsh who had repeated petty criminal problems and wound up in prison.

What is the source of the marriage information? I don't see a marriage record for an Edward Walsh to anyone at that time and location but I know not everything is transcribed into online systems.

I see several James Walsh's born in or circa 1858 in New Ross or Wexford but all of them also died in Ireland so they don't seem to be the son of the Edward you are looking for.

Wow. Thank you for your response. It is possible that i have the wrong people as far as Edward is concerned. But i am positive about the James and his marriage to Mary sherlock in Massachusetts because their child married Mt aunt's mother

I do have my great-great grandfather, Edward John Walsh, born about that time somewhere in Ireland (possibly in the Midlands) and he married there.  They immigrated to the States (from Cork?) in about 1849 and first settled in Galena, IL. I don't think this is YOUR ancestor, but if you have DNA testing, so do I, and possibly we could explore any family connection
