In “History of Madison County, State of New York” by L.M. Hammond, page 584 there is a reference to the Rhode Island Quarter settled by families from Rhode Island.  Is there any other sources that refer to this area or the Rhode Islanders who settled there?

That book lists a number of the Rhode Islanders' names.

  •  It's likely that you'll find birth/marriage records for at least some of them in Vital Records for Little Compton, Rhode Island.
  • Also, some of them may still have been alive by the time of the 1850 U.S. census. If you find their names in that census, the record could indicate their place of birth as Rhode Island.
  • Land Records may be available, too.

And, if they were still living for the 1855 census, the image shows family relationships. Here's an example

New York State Census, 1865," database with images, FamilySearch( : 12 March 2018), William H Bronson, District 02, Hamilton, Madison, New York, United States; citing Census, p. 1, citing multiple county Clerks; Warren and Lewis County Board of Supervisors; multiple counties in New York; Utica and East Hampton Public Libraries, New York.

Oops, I think I asked my question poorly. Has anyone hear of the Rhode Island Quarter in Madison, Madison, New York circa 1790s to 1820s?
