Dates you locate are sometimes year only, or month and year (mm yy) or you may locate the full date (dd mm yy).
Dates which are "incomplete" or "imprecise" tend to be dates which are missing one or two of the factors. dd is a factor. mm is a factor. yy is a factor. Sometimes more research will locate more of the date.
Sometimes no matter where you search you yourself are unable to locate the full set of factors -- you yourself cannot locate in your search a birth or death certificate for instance. IF you refer this sort of difficulty to g2g forum, sometimes someone will do some research in places you have not searched and they sometimes find the information.
It would be helpful for others if you would indicate a profile by its Wikitree ID so others can see what is happening. Context is important when figuring out options for resolution.
