Has additional detail been determined for Benjamin Kingman, son of Adam and Ruth?

Another site has linked Adam Kingman and Ruth White as parents of a Benjamin Kingman who died 23 Dec 1863 in New York.  However, the gravestone inscription notes his death age as 75 years, 8 months, and 8 days, which would have him born around 1789, instead of what several sources indicate should be 1779 or 1780.

In most cases go with the gravestone, unless you have a church birth record. The family probably would of made sure (to the best of their knowledge) that his gravestone had the right dates on it.

Since this headstone looks like it's an original,   I'd also go with the date on the headstone.  That might change if you're certain you've located a birth record in the future.

The Tombstone Birthday calculator says his birthday would be April 15, 1788

You probably already have his Find A Grave info
