mcgurk family history project .john mcgurk and family moved over to coventry c1938 and never came home .looking for pre 38 family links and history i know they lived on the ardouyne afterleaving altcar st c1930.John mcgurk born Raglan st 1900 ,father john from county cork

My mother martha was born Belfast 1902, (nee McGurk). She had a sister, Rose, and brothers John, I think John weas the oldest James Harry, Joseph, and Andy. Her father, named James or John was originally from Passge West in Cork, and moved to Belfast in the search for work. Worked in Haarlands as a platers helper, and the whole family, with the exception of John. I never heard of any Coventry connection. Not many left in the family now. Their Belfast address in the early years was 62, McDonnell Street, Falls Road.

Just stumbled upon this. We are still in Belfast. My grandfather was John McGurk. My Dad is Andy McGurk.  Him and Joe are the only two left from that generation.
