Advice before editing this pre-1700 Hepburn profile?

I recently adopted a profile for Jane Hepburn (Hepburn-156) as Hepburn is one of my bloodlines. Now someone has initiated a merge with a Jane Hepburn born about 1502 and I haven't had any time to research this person nor am I aware of any project that would cover this part of Scottish history.

So I am asking for advice (and help), as directed below, on how to proceed.

Hi Skip,

You have a few options, the Scotland Project is growing and changing at the moment and they would be delighted to have new members if you are interested in Scottish Profiles, I can help you join them if you wish.

Separately to that I would message the PM of the profile the merge has been proposed with and the person who proposed the merge.

He has surmised that because the Jane you adopted has her  father mentioned in the source which is on your profile. The other Jane has her husband listed so they must be the same person.

The merge will take 30 days to complete unless you or the other PM accept or reject it. Or you could set it to an unmerged match and add some research notes in the Biography while you are working on it.

Hi Lizzie,

Thanks for your answer and yes I am interested in the Scotland Project. Do I need to have a Tag open to join? Also I will contact the others involved with the proposed merge.

Hi Skip, could you edit your answer to take off your email? G2G is a public forum and you could get spammed!

Here’s the link to joining the Scotland Team :-)

Hi Lizzie and Skip, I proposed the merger of the Jane Hepburns. I'm new to wiktree but am happy to help track down additional sources or whatever you need. I included one source already in the comments.
