Limiting the amount of managers to a profile?

I just merged this profile: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Koetzer-6 (the project team provided most of the validating research) - I count a whopping 26 profile managers …!?!

It does not seem fair that many family members are added when they are only that - family members and not even WikiTree members with a semblance of a track record.

This does seem to me to be undesirable. (I will remove myself as soon as I have more answers on this issue).

What's even more odd is that some of the profile managers aren't even active profiles.
We've had a glitch like that occasionally.

Thanks Eowyn. Though it does answer many questions, I do not see the issue adressed of one family member adding so many (at least 15) other direct (blood) famliy members. There should be a limit ...
Those particular ones were likely added quite awhile ago and came over in a merge. I don't know that family members adding lots of other family members is common practice.

In any case, the help page says more than four or five becomes unwieldly and that profiles managers can be removed but it should be discussed.  So the Cape of Good Hope project leaders/coordinators should talk to the other PMs listed, particularly active ones, and see if they want to remain as a PM or move to the Trusted List. I'm sure the PM who added all her family members will understand about moving them to the Trusted List.

(Note: The ones who don't actual have active profiles may not be able to be removed right now. If I remember right, we aren't currently able to do that but I'll let Jamie know we need to look into that glitch at some point.)
Perhaps there should be a limit on profile managers who only have "family member" accounts and are not full "wiki genealogists"? I remember before I went to work on Anne of Kiev's profile she had over 20 profile managers (which I sorted out with John A) and the overwhelming majority of them didn't even have full accounts

I agree, there are too many managers on some profiles. Does this happen because of multiple merges?

With deep ancestry this is more frequent and has been discussed before. Massively merged profiles we call them (many are pre-1700 or pre-1750).

This profile though only has been merged over three times. So it is odd that so many family members were added to the merged profile before the merge took place ...

It looks as though most of the profile managers are Pistoris family members.  So I'd expect that probably all know each other.  In any case, given that the profile is an 18th century one, they aren't likely to cause any problems to anyone else.
